Lodge Chaplain

In a Masonic Lodge, the Chaplain is the officer responsible for the spiritual and moral atmosphere of the lodge. He offers prayers at the opening and closing of meetings, at degrees, and during special ceremonies, asking for guidance, harmony, and wisdom for the brethren.

While the office is non-sectarian, the Chaplain’s role emphasises reverence, reflection, and the moral teachings of Freemasonry, helping remind members of their duties to their God, their neighbours, and themselves.
